The MacPowell Wedding

So, if you’re reading this, then either you’ve been invited to our wedding, you’ve looked over the shoulder of someone who has been invited, or you’ve been doing some real specific googling.

We thought we’d make sure you are fully informed about Emily’s our big day. So consider this your definitive guide to the MacPowell wedding.

Before anything else though, please make sure you RSVP by 24th April! (to do so, just scroll down to the bottom of this page) This will help us massively because we hate chasing people up.

Venue

The ceremony, reception and everything else will be taking place at Cott Farm Barn, East Chinnock, Somerset, BA22 9ES. This is in Somerset, not Southampton. That’s important. Also important is the fact that the postcode is BA22, not BAZZ, which is what the invites look like.

Most things you need to know can be found out here: http://cottfarmwedding.co.uk/information-for-guests/

Accommodation

As we have selfishly decided to have our wedding in the middle of nowhere, you might want to arrange some accommodation. You can camp at the venue itself – either bring your own tent/campervan or hire one of their luxury bell tents. Check out the details here: http://cottfarmwedding.co.uk/wedding-venue-camping/

If you do want to camp, you should contact Cott Farm directly. And if you want to bring your own tent or campervan, you can only stay on the Saturday night but you’d need to make sure any tents were set up the day before. Get in touch with us if you’d like to discuss this option further.

Alternatively, if you don’t fancy camping there are a few hotel options detailed in the link above.

Or you could try some nearby self-catered cottages:

Little Norton Mill

Weston House

Yeoman Cottage

Or there’s always Airbnb – probably the cheapest, most convenient option!

Order of the Day

We are not very organised. It might look something like this:

1pm – Ceremony begins. We recommend eating a bit of lunch beforehand. Don’t go hungry!

2:30pm – Ceremony finishes

2:30pm-4:30pm – Canapés and drinks are served. Time to mingle and avoid awkward conversations with people whose names you can’t quite remember. Brush up on your best anecdotes. No magician will be provided. Feel free to bring your own tricks or try to impress other guests with your juggling skills.

5pm-7:30pm – Wedding breakfast/cake cutting/speeches. Goodness knows how long this will take. There’s only one course plus cake though, so hopefully it will all be fine.

8pm – PARTAY

9/9:30pm – MORE FOOD

11:30pm – Mikey and Emily leave to rapturous applause and general adoration

Midnight – Everyone leaves, all agreeing that Harry and Meghan’s wedding had nothing on this one

Or it might not.

Music

If you want to help out, you can contribute to our two Spotify playlists, one for chilled background vibes, and one for party times when the band is having a break:

Gifts

Please don’t feel obliged to get us anything – it’s more important to us that you are there to celebrate with us! But if you did want to get us a gift to help us start our married life together, then you should have received a gift list card with your invitation containing all the required information. If you’ve lost it or can’t be bothered to go find it, the gift list number is 729994. And you know our names.

In reality, we mainly did it to go round John Lewis with the zapper thingy.

Any Questions?

Preferably wedding-related, but we also do general life advice. Email us at macpowellwedding@gmail.com

Thanks

We wanted to say thank you to Anna Naylor (calligraphy), Ellie Kenyon (painting) and Mikey Oldfield (design) for their help putting the invitations together. (You can check out more of Anna’s work at: https://www.etsy.com/shop/AnnaNaylorDesigns)

And to you guys – you’ve been invited because you are an important part of our lives and we’d love to celebrate this next step with you. So thank you for being part of our journey so far. We hope that you can make it and we can’t wait to see you all!

RSVP

The most important thing of course, is letting us know whether or not you’re coming! So don’t hesitate – do it now! (Any problems with this, just send us an email). If you’re unsure about the RSVP process, why not read these testimonials:

‘I enjoyed the RSVP’ing experience – very satisfying.’ R. Galpin, 2018

And remember. We need all RSVPs in by 24th April!

The deadline to RSVP for this event has passed.
