Lots of things are changing in my life right now. It is exciting, but it can get a little overwhelming.

I have found that, in these moments, it’s important to take some time to focus on those things that remain constant while everything around seems uncertain.

One of these things is flapjack.

So I have written a little haiku to celebrate the sweet tray-baked oat bar in all its syrupy glory.

Flapjack is tasty,
Oaty, delicious and great.
Nothing like cat poo.

Perhaps if you know someone who is also going through a period of uncertainty and change, then you could pass this onto them. I hope that this reminder of flapjack’s unswerving, yet soft consistency can prove to be a source of courage and inspiration both to you and to them, as it has been for me.
